Lift Every Voice: Transportation Justice Storytelling Project
Check our zine and podcast project: The Lift Every Voice Project. The project amplifies the greater Portland community’s transportation needs and barriers. These stories come from Black, Latine, older adults, youth, low-income & transit-dependent people.
Lift Every Voice wants to highlight how neighbors navigate public transportation to meet their basic needs and improve their quality of life. The lack of funding for public transit goes hand-in-hand with the underfunding and disinvestments that disproportionately harm BIPOC and/or low-income people, as well as people who do not have the physical or legal ability to drive.
This project showcases regional residents who rely on the transit system and highlights the improvements they know they need. We need to listen to community members who are active transit users. These stories will pave a path for equitable, climate-conscious policy changes and investments.
